IM Land are a team of experienced professionals specialising in the promotion of sites to obtain planning permission. As part of the IM Group, IM Land currently have secured land for approximately 6,000 units, much of which is currently in the planning system (please see the ‘what we do’ page for more information).

The team has a wide range of experience including work for major PLC housebuilders, financial and professional services and local government. Originally formed in 1976, International Motors was started as a motor-vehicle distribution business by founder and sole owner Lord Edmiston. IM Group is now in its 40th year of business and is home to companies such as The Funding Corporation, IM Properties and Spitfire Bespoke Homes with headquarters in Coleshill, and with offices also in Ireland, Sweden and China.

Kevin is the UK Development Director for IM Properties, since joining the Board in 2010 Kevin has grown IM’s Development Team from 2 to 16, overseeing the successful promotion of 3 million sq ft of commercial development land through planning in the process. In the past 4 years alone Kevin has delivered development stock totalling 2 million square feet.

Following the rapid success and growth of Spitfire, acquiring over 40 sites for immediate and medium term development, Jonathan now heads up the IM Land team within the IM Development Business.

Richard has more than 10 years’ experience working for residential developers building throughout the country. He joined IM Land at the start of 2016 having worked most recently for Barratt Developments as technical manager where he was responsible for the technical viability of site acquisitions and project management of developments through to build completion. Richard has been responsible for the Technical Department functions for some of the UK’s leading developers and has a civil engineering background which he uses to ensure buildability of layouts is assessed at all stages. Within the team, Richard oversees the technical appraisal and delivery of projects where he uses his residential developer experience to help maximise value in the design and legal aspects of the development.

A chartered town planner and qualified urban designer, with more than 10 years of experience, Richard joined IM in 2015 from the west midlands office of Barratt Developments where he was part of the land team delivering circa 800 homes a year. Prior to that Richard worked as a senior officer in the major projects team of a local authority, predominantly focusing on residential developments. As part of the IM Land team he is involved in coordination and management of projects through the planning system as well identifying and appraising the potential of new opportunities.

Marianne joined IM Land in 2016 after working for the housebuilder Barratt Developments for the last 6 years. She worked on the ‘immediate’ and ‘strategic’ land sides of the business under the Barratt and David Wilson Homes brands, managing both the acquisition and planning processes. Marianne was responsible for the acquisition of projects with a GDV in excess of £150m including the Wedgwood Estate in the Staffordshire Green Belt; a deal which helped her secure the title of ‘Birmingham Young Professional of the Year in Property and Construction’ during 2014. Over the last 12 months, Marianne agreed terms on 380 acres of strategic residential land to support the business plans of two divisions. Now at IM Land, Marianne’s focus is on sourcing and acquiring new strategic promotion opportunities in our target business area.

Is a chartered town planner, with more than 20 years of experience, Sarah joined IM in July 2016 from Taylor Wimpey strategic land (midlands) where she was part of the strategic land team delivering circa 200 homes a year to the Taylor Wimpey operating regions. Sarah has worked in private sector planning since graduating in 1994, with 19 years spent working as part of the TW group of companies, starting with Bryant Homes in 1997, then followed by Taylor Woodrow and then from 2007 onwards until this year with Taylor Wimpey, with a focus of the promotion of the TW midlands land portfolio to secure site allocations with local plans, the submission and negotiation of outline planning consents and site search activities. As part of the IM Land team she is involved in the strategic promotion of portfolio sites and the coordination and management of projects through the planning system to secure a positive consent, as well identifying and appraising the potential of new opportunities.
